Foods to avoid during pregnancy:

Raw or undercooked animal products: This type of product may contain various microbes, such as bacteria, viruses, and fungi, and cause infection, so the pregnant woman should be careful to cook meat and other animal products before taking them.

Avoid eating raw eggs, as it may contain Salmonella bacteria, which leads to cases of diarrhoea, vomiting and high temperature while eating eggs after cooking well, cooking heat ensures the elimination of any kind of germs and bacteria.

Avoid eating unpasteurized sausages and dairy products. These foods may contain bacteria that cause Listeriosis which can lead to miscarriage, non-birth, and other health problems.

Some species of fish and seafood, large and long-lived fish often contain a higher percentage of mercury than other fish, and mercury may adversely affect the normal development of the fetus brain and nervous system, and fish caught from streams, rivers and ponds may contain harmful elements The nervous system of the fetus.

Don’t eat too many foods rich in vitamin A, taking 10,000 or more units of vitamin A may lead to birth defects in the fetus, the liver is one of the most sources of vitamin A, therefore it is preferable to avoid and not to take too much, especially in the first months of pregnancy, also be careful not to take any food supplements that contain high amounts of vitamin A.

Drinks to avoid during pregnancy:

Some drinks are harmful to the mother and fetus during pregnancy, it is recommended to avoid or reduce them, including these drinks:

Alcohol and spirits of all kinds. Alcohol reduces oxygen and nutrient access to fetal cells and impedes its growth and development.

Unpasteurized juices and milk sold on the roadside or from farms, these drinks may contain microbes and germs, endangering the health of the mother and fetus.

Caffeine-containing beverages, such as coffee, tea, soft drinks, and energy drinks, increase the likelihood of miscarriage, no birth, or fetal weight loss, so it is recommended to reduce caffeine consumption to less than 200 mg per day.
